Welcome

Introduction

Hello! Salut! Ciao! Hola! Welcome to my new International Law blog.

This blog will be focused on a variety of situations under the guise of international law. This will include analysis and discussions related to the results of international law cases; changes in international law; and occasionally debates on areas of  international law I find to be insufficient or ineffective in the modern world.

Firstly, a little about me. My names Ross. I graduated with a 2:1 law degree in 2015 from Northumbria University in the United Kingdom. However, I was not certain I wanted to be a solicitor so did not complete the LPC. Since then, I have taken a variety of jobs to pay the bills, but nothing so far has really made me think i'd found what I wanted to do. However over the past couple of years, I have reflected on the subjects I enjoyed during my studies and International Law stood out as my favourite. I had  particular interests in the Law of Armed Conflict and Human Rights and believe now is the right time to pursue these interests as a career. I'm hoping to start a masters in international law in 2019 . Ultimately, I'd love to work in a legal position for the ICRC and given the way the world is heading, to help stop the abuse of international law by despots and militants.

International Law is such a massive construction and covers so many areas, like business, environment, disputes, war etc. Given this, I think it is of absolute importance that the world is aware as much as possible, where these laws come from, how they benefit them and why were they created.

I think that's it for the first post! Thank you for finding the International Law Review and I hope my analysis and opinions on developments cause more people to become invested in the importance of International Law.
